The C.L Weld Park Stakes Group 3 caused somewhat of a surprise when 25/1 shot Lady Springbank came home in front under Willie Supple for trainer Paul Deegan.

Supple raced the Choisir filly in rear before coming with a challenge from over two furlongs out and kept on gamely to lead inside the furlong for a half length win over Bikini Babe

A delighted Deegan said afterwards: “She did it well, she did it very well actually. She saw it out very well.”

“She’s in the Cheveley Park so she’ll probably take her chance in that. She came over from Karl Burke’s for the good ground, so we were worried about how the ground dried out.”
