Korbous bounced back to his best as he got up close home to take the last at Leopardstown, the Summer Members Club Handicap.
A winner over the course last July the six-year-old son Choisir had been disappointing so far this term.
Fitted with cheekpieces for the first time today he was sent off a 12/1 chance under Leigh Roche.
Settled behind the leaders he travelled strongly over a furlong out and was soon ridden to challenge.
He had a good battle with Oor Jock in the closing stages and he just got up to prevail by a head.
Oor Jock had to settle for second yet again and he was returned the 2/1 favourite under Declan McDonogh for Adrian McGuinness. Split The Atom (11/2) completed the placings a further two and three parts of a length back in third under Ronan Whelan for Pat Shanahan.
Dick Brabazon trains the winner and he said afterwards: "I'm a bit shocked. He's so lazy at home that we don't know what to think.
"He's always had talent but has had problems. When everything comes together he's a good horse and he always runs well at Leopardstown."
