The Michael McElhone trained Hide The Evidence turned the #5 Admission Roscommon October 15th Apprentice Handicap into a procession as the 11yo son of Carroll House ran out an easy nineteen length winner.

The 2006 Royal Bond Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) winner ran a cracker last month on his last start at Down Royal when finishing second to Annie Go at the odds of 16/1.

Sent off at 12/1 this afternoon he hit the front over two furlongs out and was pushed out to go clear a furlong and a half from home, keeping on strongly inside the final furlong to score in convincing fashion under Jonathon Killahena. Salacious Sally was sent off the 5/2 favourite for Donal Kinsella and Ricky Doyle and she finished a long way back in second while Sian was a further two and a quarter lengths back in third under Marc Monaghan for Prunella Dobbs at 6/1.

Killahena was recording his first success since return to action last month after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a neck injury and concussion following a fall at Wexford in May 2011.

It was just his third ride back since that injury and the 19yo from Ballygar, Co Galway said after the win: "It's great to get a win. This is my local track. I am based with Mick Halford and just returned to action four weeks ago.

"I want to thank my GP Martin Bailey and the Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick."

Winning trainer Michael McElhone said afterwards: "Class is permanent. I knew he was coming back to form.

"All credit must go to my wife Anne (owner) as she rides him out every day and won’t let me near him! She told me he was going to win."
