The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Timeless Focus trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The Stewards enquired into the reason why G.J. Phillips failed to present himself at scales to ride Sir Edward Martin at the nominated weight of 8st 1lbs. G.J. Phillips stated that he rode at a light weight yesterday at the Curragh and was satisfied that he would ride at todays weight.

He added that on arrival at the racecourse today he found himself to be 2lbs overweight and contacted his agent who in turn contacted the trainer of Sir Edward Martin. He further added that his minimum weight had been reassessed at 8st 6lbs before his 5lb claim was deducted.

Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.J. Phillips was in breach of Rule 195 and consequently fined him €150 having taken his good previous record in this regard into consideration.
