Gordon Elliott's Ibsen overcame an absence of 394 days to win the ladies' handicap in Tipperary.
He has won before off a lengthy break so it wasn't surprising to punters who sent him off a 9/4 chance from 3/1.
The eight-year-old gelding travelled well for Lisa O'Neill turning in and hit the front with less than a quarter of a mile to travel.
He was kept up to his work to see off Shoofly (8/1) by a length and a quarter. Glenbank King was a head behind Shoofly in third at 10/1. Wood Breizh the 11/8 favourite, weakened out of contention and came in fourth.
Gordon Elliott said: "He probably wasn't fit enough but it wasn't a great race and Lisa gave him a good ride and it all worked out well.
"He has good form over hurdles and will definitely come on from the run."
The four member Home And Away Syndicate includes racing broadcaster Gary O'Brien.
