Humaniste came with a strong surge on the run-in to land the spoils in the Fitzgerald's Woodlands Hotel Adare Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary for trainer Edward O'Grady. Hybery and The Little Yank fought it out in the straight in the two-mile contest with the former gaining the edged over the last.

He was trumped in the closing stages, however, as Sean O'Keeffe conjured a late burst from 8/1 shot Humaniste, who got on top for a four length success.

The winner had finished mid-division over two-and-a-half miles at Punchestown on his most recent outing last month.

“He was very good. He loves a bit of nice ground and two miles,” said O'Keeffe.

“He has plenty of gears and was able to pick up from the back of the last when I wanted him. I was always confident.”
