The Aidan O'Brien-trained Navy Seal picked up well in the straight to grab front-runner Bad Desire in the mile maiden at Galway.

Seamie Heffernan 's mount went to post a 1/4 shot in the six-runner event having been a promising fifth on his debut at Killarney last month.

The hotpot briefly looked in trouble turning for home as Bad Desire nicked a few lengths but found his stride when straightened up and got on top in the final furlong.

He was pulling away late on for a cosy two-and-three-quarter length success.

Stable representative Chris Armstrong said:- "He was a still a bit babyish throughout the run but came on from Killarney, where he ran a nice race on debut.

"Seamus felt once the penny dropped he showed a nice turn of foot to quicken up and peg back Joseph's horse. He will come on from it and will be a nice middle-distance horse for next year.

"He'll probably step up to stakes company now and into something like the mile Group 2 at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend."
