Following on from Battle Of Jericho in race two, Aidan O'Brien and Seamie Heffernan doubled their Navan score when North Face landed the Irish EBF Supporting Irish Champions Weekend Maiden.
The defection of First Response opened this mile event up, and Declaration Of War first-timer North Face didn't need a second invite to score at odds of 100/30 favourite, by a length and three parts from Dubai Rainbow
"He was the eye-catcher in the ring. I thought he'd get a little bit tired but I rode him with plenty of confidence and he won well," said Heffernan.
"Aidan (O'Brien) bred him himself, he's a half-brother to Beethoven. A mile is comfortable enough and he's clean winded so he'll probably stretch out a big further."
Under the provisions of Rule 90 (iii), the Stewards allowed King's Field trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the horse was correctly vaccinated in accordance with Rule 91.
G.P. Brouder, rider of Effernock Fizz trained by Miss Katy Brown, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left turning in and up the straight.
