Holding Pattern created a good impression when successful on debut for Jessica and Kate Harrington in the Go Racing At Thurles Racecourse Flat Race.
The daughter of Teofilo took a keen hold throughout but still had plenty in the locker when asked to strike the front over a furlong out.
The 8/1 (from 10/1) chance soon stretched clear and stayed on strongly to beat evens favourite The Granson by five and a half lengths. Peace Party was a further length back in third.
Jessica Harrington said, "Her owners had to be patient with her and they also bred her. She went to the Sales as a yearling and came back so it's been a long wait for them.
"She's out of a Kayf Tara mare so there's a good bit of staying there and she did it very nicely. She had run in a schooling race in the spring but we could never get her right. She was right today!
"It would be nice to go the black-type route but we'll take it step by step."
