A powerful surge down the outside saw Henry Higgins slam his rivals in the concluding mile and a quarter handicap at Leopardstown.

Fran Berry started his move a furlong and a half out and the imposing son of Jeremy showed a great turn of foot to quickly end the race as a contest.

The winning margin was two and three quarter lengths as the three-year-old won decisively with his head in the air at odds of 8/1, having been 12s this morning.

“They set a very fast pace. We’ll see how the handicapper reacts now. He’s found the winning post and hopefully he’s headed in the right direction,” trainer Charles O’Brien said.

"It turned out to be a very hot race he ran in at the Curragh the last day." Rockabilly Riot (8/1) for Ger Lyons and Gary Carroll was the horse in second and New Regalia showed her first form in third for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning at 9/1.

Henry Higgins brought up a double for both Charles O’Brien and Fran Berry. O’Brien saddled Edith Cowan while Berry won the previous race on Dane Street

On Henry Higgins Fran Berry commented: "He's been a little bit disappointing up to now. The change of tactics worked with dropping him in as he enjoyed passing horses.

"He won nicely and enjoyed the juice in the ground. I'd say a mile and a half wouldn't be any problem."
