Red Trail (15/2) overcame mid-race traffic to record consecutive wins today, landing Navan's 19-runner Yellow Furze Handicap (div I) in the last stride for trainer Andy McNamara and jockey Jack Kearney.

Red Trail was in rear-division when short of room two furlongs out and had nine horses to pass with a furlong to race but powered home, passing Gudrun Genberg (66/1) at the line.

The three year old daughter of Galileo Gold had previously won at Down Royal on September 26 and today McNamara said “it wasn't looking good two furlongs out but she stayed on very well.

"I'm not sure yet whether we'll keep her on the go or not, I'll have a chat with the doctor (owner/breeder Andrew Heffernan) and see what we'll do. She didn't have an overly hard summer but she's after having two quick enough runs now.

"We haven't schooled her yet but could go hurdling with her - that was 1m2f with cut in the ground, so she has a chance of getting the trip."
