Head Turner made a successful switch back to the level at Tipperary tonight when running out a good winner of the apprentice handicap under Dylan Hogan.
Pat Fahy 's charge, who was fourth over timber at Cork last month, was produced with a strong run to lead over a furlong from home in the mile-and-a-half contest.
The High Chaparral mare ran on strongly in the closing stages to post a two length success at odds of 6/1. 3/1 favourite Mydor chased her home.
"She is slow out of the stalls and I don't want fast ground for her as she then can't get into it, but when I saw the ground was soft to heavy, I declared her as I knew she'd handle it,” said Fahy.
"Everything worked well today and that was Dylan's first ride for me. He came to ride for me recently and came back in from riding work with a good explanation of the horse he rode, so that'd do me. It was a great ride today and he's very professional.
"She'll go to Punchestown next but will have break then and come back for the end of the flat in the autumn. She'll go chasing then and jumps very well."
