Amy Jo Hayes saw her claimed reduced to seven, as she partnered Five Zeros to victory in the last at Navan, the Boyne Valley Family Raceday July 9th Handicap.
Second at Gowran earlier this month, the Nigel Slevin trained five-year-old was sent off a 5/1 joint-favourite, stepping up in trip to a mile-and-a-quarter for the first time.
Settled in second, the daughter of Mustajeeb was pushed along to lead under two furlongs out and kept on well in the closing stages, coming home two-and-a-quarter lengths to the good. Dinamine (25s to 14s) came through to take second under Nathan Crosse for David Dunne, while Innamorare (12/1) and Heer At Dawn (33/1) were third and fourth respectively. Victory March was the other joint-favourite and he finished ninth.
"She's low-grade but Amy's 10lb claim really helped her. She's a small filly and light weights help her.
"She did (climb the hill well), we stepped her up in trip. Amy said the last day another bit further wouldn't bother her. We took her advice.
"I think that is Amy 10lb gone, she keeps them balanced and keeps them running.
"We have 15 riding out and we'll be tipping away over the summer."
