Jessica Harrington had a day to remember on Wednesday with Torcedor taking Group Three honours at Ascot and she sends two runners to Cork on Friday.
The most interesting of these would appear to be newcomer Emily Moon in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Flat Race.
Harrington’s daughter Kate will don silks that have been carried to many a decent win when climbing aboard Emily Moon in the Myerscough’s pink and white colours.
A Beneficial four-year-old, Harrington’s runner has a lot going for her on paper as she’s from the family of the legendary triple Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Best Mate.
The betting should help to clarify what expectations are for the youngster on this occasion and she faces some interesting opponents too.
Coincidently, Paul Nolan’s debutant, Roney is a half-sister to a former great servant for the Harringtons, Cailin Annamh.
That daughter of Definite Article won no less than 10 races for the Moone team, between 2012 and 2015. Her last success saw her hit a career high in the Grade Two PWC Champion Chase at Gowran.
Nolan equips Roney with a tongue-strap and he’s booked point-to-point champion Barry O’Neill for the spin on Manverton Limited’s representative. Dantess goes for the Danoli combination of Dan O’Neill and Tom Foley with in-form Richie Deegan aboard.
James Nash has booked Patrick Mullins for Hollow Crest while Noel Meade’s The Caddy Rose can build on a reasonable beginning in the big Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse.
Pat Flynn ’s first-timer Bonnie Blue Flag is by So You Think out of a Listed mare in Baby Blue Eyes so she needs considering as well.
Elsewhere on the card, Davy Russell could please his many local followers as the champion jockey has a nice five horse book to look forward to.
The Youghal man is on two for Gordon Elliott, Sometimes A Foxin the Summer BBQ Evenings Maiden Hurdle and Roundstone in the Fermoy Maiden Hurdle.
Russell also teams up with John Kiely for Decision Time in the Follow Us On Twitter Rated Novice Hurdle and Deor in the Mallow Handicap Hurdle with Sean Aherne’s Nicole’s Milan his final ride of the day.
