Jessica Harrington saddled two for the featured Buy Tickets Online And Save On Admission Tickets Handicap at Cork, and the outsider of her pair, Marshall Jennings (12/1) landed the spoils under Tom Madden.

There was quite the finish to this mile contest and just six and a half lengths separated all eighteen of them.

Up front the Fiona Carmichael-owned Marshall Jennings prevailed by a neck and half a length from Annie Fior and Port Lions

The other Commonstown hope, Charcor (6s into 5s), with stable jockey Shane Foley up, finished seventh.

"I didn't think he was going to get a gap turning into the straight but it opened up for him and it's great for Tom (Madden) and I hope the handicapper isn't too hard on him," said Mrs Harrington's daughter Kate.

"He'll go for all those big handicaps and he used to want a dig in the ground but as he has got a bit of age, he can go on any ground now."

A.J. Farragher, rider of Annie Fior trained by B.A.Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not get a clear run.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Marshall Jennings, ridden by T.P. Madden, Tintoretto ridden by N.G. McCullagh and Annie Fior, ridden by A.J. Farragher, where it appeared Tintoretto ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that A.J. Farragher was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards cautioned A.J. Farragher on this occasion.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Karawaan ridden by C.T. Keane, Spiorad Saoirse (GB), ridden by B.M. Coen and Port Lions, ridden by W.M. Lordan, where it appeared Spiorad Saoirse(GB) ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Ms. Sheila Lavery, who accompanied B.M. Coen. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise B.M. Coen to ride with more awareness in future.
