John McConnell's Go Another One switched back to hurdles for an emphatic victory in the three miler at Cork.

The eight-year-old gelding hadn't been seen since March when falling in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival. He has been steeplechasing since June last year with two victories accrued in Clonmel and Worcester.

This was a good opportunity for him over the smaller obstacles, a sphere in which he won at Listed and Grade 3 company last year.

Ben Harvey made all on him and the pair asserted from former Melbourne Cup runner-up Max Dynamite after the ninth hurdle.

The 11/5 favourite had a moment's danger when he stumbled upon landing after three out, but was soon back into stride and eased away to score by 17 lengths.

Former Galway Hurdle winner Tigris River on his second start for Aidan Howard, came in second at 7/1.

Max Dynamite weakened and was pulled up.

Assistant trainer Mark Kavanagh said: "He’s back to himself. He was well in on the ratings, we thought, and it was just nice to transfer that to the track, and Ben gave him a great ride.

"I must be a lucky charm because I’ve brought him to the races for all his wins, in Ireland and England.

“That’s ten wins now. John’s good at cherry-picking races and he picked this race for him and was confident.

"There could be a big race in him, and the option of going back over fences is always there for him.”
