Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell doubled their Fairyhouse score when the market got it close to spot-on in the Grade One BARONERACING.COM Drinmore Novice Chase with Delta Work (10/3) coming out on top from Le Richebourg (11/4 favourite).
Barry Geraghty and Le Richebourg looked to pounce when Delta Work 'missed' the last and Davy Russell rode him home without his left iron.
Credit to Delta Work though as he got back to assert his authority close home for a half length win.
They drew on by eight lengths from the pace-setting Jetz in third.
Elliott and Russell were on the mark earlier in the Grade Three juvenile hurdle with Chief Justice and the champion jockey said: "I got a lovely run through, he jumped great and done everything well.
"Just down to the last he had a good look at it. I ended up losing my iron at the back of it but he was good enough to come back and do it then so all credit to the horse really."
Paddy Power go 12/1 from 16/1 about Delta Work for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham, where he triumphed in the Pertemps Final back in March.
Elliott, Russell and Gigginstown House Stud were taking this big prize for the second year in succession following on from the success of the Death Duty here in 2017.
“He jumped well and showed a good attitude. You would love the way he picked up from the back of the last after missing it," said Elliott.
“He’s not the biggest most robust horse in the world but he’s a nice horse and we’re lucky to have him. I’d imagine Leopardstown at Christmas will be the plan.
“All he does is jumps and stays. He won a Pertemps in Cheltenham but I liked the way he travelled through the race today.”
Boylesports — RSA 10/1 (from 20/1) & NH Chase 8/1 fav introduced about Delta Work.
S.W. Flanagan, rider of Rashaan trained by Colin Kidd, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount refused to race.
The Stewards informed Colin Kidd, trainer of Rashaan, that a repeat performance in the behaviour of his charge who refused to race, may render the animal liable for suspension in future.
