Fire In Soul completed a quick double for Willie Mullins as he ran out a very easy winner of the Mulholland Bookmakers Rated Hurdle.
Successful on his debut at Clonmel in February, the son of Robin Des Champs was then upped in trip for a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse where he finished a disappointing ninth.
Back in trip to two mile one today he was sent off a 5/2 chance in the colours of Gigginstown House Stud.
Settled behind the leaders he was fourth with a circuit to race, before he soon improved into a close second.
He hit the front and went on after the second last, stretching clear before the straight, going on to score easily by twenty-one lengths. Coffee ran a big race to finish second at 33/1 under Niall 'Slippers' Madden for his father Niall 'Boots' Madden, while the front-running Definite Earl (12's last night and from 9's to 7's on-course) was a further two lengths back in third under Robbie Colgan for David Broad. All Souls was sent off the well-supported 7/4 favourite (from 3's last night) and he finished a very disappointing sixth under Andrew Lynch for Edward O'Grady.
Bryan Cooper said afterwards: "I liked him the day he won his maiden and I don't know what happened him the last day in Fairyhouse.
"He could make a nice summer chaser in time and he probably wants a bit further."
STEWARDS REPORT
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined All Souls, trained by E. J. O'Grady, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
