Heather Rocco was trainer Henry De Bromhead's second winner since last week's Cheltenham Festival heroics as his Hugh Morgan-partnered gelding capitalised on a final flight fall from Mr Coldstone to win the Bruff Rated Novice Hurdle at Limerick today.
Mr Coldstone, under Paul Townend, was disputing the lead and pressing Heather Rocco when falling at the last, leaving Heather Rocco, a son of Shirocco, to coast home for a 16 lengths win over Zanavi
De Bromhead, whose previous win was with Myth Buster at Thurles on March 20, wasn't present and afterwards Morgan stated “I'd say I had him (Mr Coldstone) covered.
“I gave him (Heather Rocco) a chance turning for home, as the way they were finishing in the earlier races I wanted to have him doing his best work late rather than getting there too soon and he getting tired.
“He is a little bit keen but loves that ground."
Based with De Bromhead, 5lbs claimer Morgan previously won on Heather Rocco at today's venue last Christmas and today added "it was a very pleasing performance and I'm very grateful for Henry and the owner (Mustafa Elatrash) for putting faith in me and putting me back on him.”
