After opening the card with a success for Matthew Smith on Irish Poseidon Sam Ewing doubled up for the Meath handler’s brother Kevin, aboard Jackmel in division one of the Test Your Tipping Talents At PUNTERS.HOLLYWOODBETS.COM Every Dundalk Meeting Handicap.
Smith trains Jackmel, a good servant, for his father Kevin senior, and he this afternoon secured a neck victory over Kudbegood after making virtually all.
Winning his third race from seven outings in 2020, Jackmel clearly enjoys Dundalk, and this was a fourth win at the County Louth venue.
“That's great. That's his third win in four runs so it's brilliant,” said the winning handler.
“The 7lb was a big help and Sam is brilliant, he's well worth his claim.
“He'll tip away here, we have no definite plans at the moment. He's very laid back and very easy on himself at home. He's a hardy horse and I'd say he'll take plenty of racing.
“I'm delighted for my father who owns him.”
C.P. Hoban, rider of Guiding trained by Shane Nolan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
S. Foley, rider of Airgead trained by Mrs Prunella Dobbs, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never let himself down in the straight.
