After getting off the mark on her 14th start at Leopardstown last month, Everylittlestep followed-up in the first divide of the the Rose Hotel Handicap.

Placed five times before getting her head in front, the Yvonne Latta-trained five-year-old has clearly developed a taste for winning.

Sent off the 2/1 favourite, the daughter of Footstepsinthesand was settled in mid-division by Colin Keane, with Pimstrel setting a strong pace in front.

Gradually edging closer from before the straight, the William Powell Harris-owned victor was ridden to challenge on the outer over a furlong from home and soon got to the front, keeping on well in the closing stages to score by a length-and-a-quarter.

Travelling best and leading over a furlong from home, Lucky Queen (18/1) ultimately had to settle for second under Iqbal Khan, while the running on Tynamite (25/1) was just a nose away in third.

"It was a good ride again and she is starting to get confidence," Andrew Latta, son of the winning trainer, said.

"Last year she was running well without winning but I was never happy with her wind. Ben Brian (vet) scoped her and found nothing but it was only when she was down (under sedation) that a cist was found under her palate which was stopping her breathing.

"She probably did well to get as far as she did last year and it has taken a couple of runs to get her confidence now. They went a good gallop today and she has a lot more to aim at so it suited.

"I'll see what the handicapper does and if she gets into a race at Galway we'll go there, if not we'll aim for something small again."

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Raceday Stewards interviewed I. Khan, rider of Lucky Queen, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. I. Khan accepted he was in breach and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that I. Khan was in breach of R.10.3(g) (frequency) and R.10.3(i)(time to respond) and considering his record in this regard they suspended him for ten racedays.

J.A. Powell, rider of Trueba trained by Edmond Daniel Linehan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped before the bottom bend.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of General Idea (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount met with interference after two furlongs. The Racedays Stewards reviewed the incident and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
