Emily Gray has really turned a corner after a summer break and followed up last month’s Limerick maiden win by taking the 2m4f mares’ maiden hurdle.

Martin Ferris pulled the 12/1 winner off the far rail to challenge approaching the last just as World Citizen had taken over in front from Special Token

The daughter of Flemensfirth quickened up nicely away from the last to beat World Citizen by three lengths, with Special Token another length and a half back in third.

Winning trainer Timmy Hyde said, “She is a grand little thing and hopefully the handicapper isn’t too severe on her. She will go for something similar and she’ll be nice for someone to breed from eventually. She’s a good-looking mare.”
