The Four Elms benefitted from a drop in class on her fourth hurdle start to justify 9/4 favouritism in the opening Mcmahons.ie Family Fun Day 1st April Hurdle at Limerick’s Bank Holiday meeting.

The son of Desert Style challenged the front-running Wrekin Rock in the straight, and took it up just before the final flight.

Francis McCurtin’s mount kept on well on the run-in to beat Wrekin Rock (7/2) by two and a quarter lengths, with the pair drawing well clear of third-placed Mazagee

A quick switch to the Flat could be on the cards as trainer John Joe Walsh explained, “He’ll probably run in the Lincoln at the Curragh this Sunday. He’s not a bad horse and has plenty of gears.”
