Fifty one-rated Evening Verse decisively won Dundalk's Follow Us On Social Media Handicap today, with connections considering stepping the mare up to Stakes company for her next race.
The daughter of Poet's Voice improved on recent starts and followed up a February win when sprinting clear under Andrew Slattery, and scoring eased down by six and a half lengths from Persian Wolf
Winning trainer Hillary McLoughlin was represented by her partner ex-jockey Martin Ferris who reported "she wasn't quite right last year and we gave her a couple of spins over hurdles and she probably wasn't getting home on testing ground.
"We put cheekpieces on and it has turned inside out.
“Kevin Manning rode her the last day and said 'don't be afraid to drop her to 1m2f' and I don't think we would have been here but for Kevin. He would have ridden her today but Andrew (Slattery) won on her previously.
"We'll probably give her an entry for the Listed Noblesse Stakes at Cork on April 16 - if it's too hot, we can step back.
“John (Bernard O'Connor, owner) is a great supporter of the yard and bred her, and he has a foal and a yearling going to the sales all with the same pedigree."
