The Shane Donohoe trained Drussell ran out the three lengths winner of the Bobbyjo Bistro Novice Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today, overcoming a final flight error to win easily under Paul Townend.

The son of Orpen, a maiden winner on his debut as a 3yo for Donohoe, had the race in safe keeping when making his only mistake at that final obstacle but recovered well to score comfortably.

Afterwards Donohoe stated “Drussell is just beginning to get his act together over hurdles and while he won off a nice mark today, is open to further progression - he probably won't be high enough rated to run in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham though.”
