After their runner-up placing in the previous heat with Stowaway Forever father and son team Philip and Luke Dempsey got a quick boost as their Dinnie's Vinnie prevailed in the following Jordan's Centra Supporting Kill GAA Handicap Chase at Naas.

This fast-paced three miler took it's toll in the closing stages with the Gordon Elliott-trained pair Swingbridge and Bilko (fatally injured) taking heavy falls at the final couple of fences.

Three brave horses fought it out up the run-in then, and at the line Dinnie's Vinnie (a half-brother to Dunguib) had half a length and the same to spare over Goulane Davina and Paper Lantern

"Of my three runners I thought he was the one with the least chance," said Dempsey.

"Once he got over 100 I thought it would be tough for him. He's tough, he was off the bridle the whole way but kept finding.

"I thought he was going to get caught on the run-in and it was like slow motion. He doesn't help you either and Luke said he was off it the whole way. He's a lazy oul devil."
