Dallas Des Pictons made the breakthrough on his third start over flights, as he ran out an easy winner of the Watch Racing TV With Free Trial Now Maiden Hurdle.

Successful in two AQPS races in his native France, the son of Spanish Moon was then bought by Gigginstown House Stud, finishing fourth on his Irish debut at Naas in November.

He improved on that performance to take second on his most recent start at Leopardstown over Christmas, and was expected to go one place better today, going off the 6/5 favourite under Jack Kennedy.

Poised behind the leaders in third from four out, he soon came with his challenge on the outer, and led on the entrance to the straight.

The bay gelding then powered clear before the last, going on to score easily by ten lengths. Lighthouse Warrier (2s to 7/4) plugged on to take second under Katie O'Farrell for Jonathan Sweeney, while The Red Menace (7/1) was another half a length back in third.

Elliott said afterwards: "He's a grand honest horse. He doesn't do anything too fancy but he gallops and I'd say he appreciated the step up in trip today.

"Like a lot of the horses that Gigginstown buy, he looks a chaser for the future."

On Battleoverdoyen, he added: "He is in good form and came out of the race at Naas very well. He's in both novice hurdles at the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown and the plan is to go there."

STEWARDS REPORTS

Gerard Michael Hussey, trainer of William Wolf reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge made a respiratory noise during this race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Lighthouse Warrier trained by Jonathan Sweeney was found to have blood on the nose as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.
