Hot on the heels of his first winner at Naas on Friday, Shane Crosse quickly followed up aboard Song Of The Sky in the Buy Online At Corkracecourse.ie Apprentice Handicap.
Having her second outing for Joseph O'Brien, this daughter of Rip Van Winkle showed deep reserves of stamina, finishing off best to collar Lace Bonnet by two and three parts of a length.
"Shane (Crosse) gave her a peach of a ride and is a good lad," said O'Brien.
"He rode a lot of pony winners and is based with me a year, and that's his first winner for me (he won on G Force at Naas on Friday)."
The Stewards interviewed G.P. Brouder, rider, following a report from the clerk of scales, Mr. L. Walsh, to the effect that G.P. Brouder had attempted to weigh out for this race without a crotch strap fitted to his body protector.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Brouder was in breach of Rule 198 (v) and Regulation 10, and having considered his previous record in this regard suspended him for 7 racedays.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Our Anniversary (FR) trained by Mrs D.A.Love pulled its right fore shoe in this race.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Theos Well (GB) trained by Michael Winters was found to have had blood on the nose as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage post race.
