Complete Unknown sprang a 50/1 shock on his 'track' debut when claiming the concluding bumper at Thurles for trainer Jonathan Fogarty.

The Dylan Thomas gelding had unseated on his sole outing in an English point-to-point in January 2020 and drifted from a morning price of 22/1 on his first start for the Wexford handler.

He was held up in the finale by Barry O'Neill before making ground up in the straight.

The five-year-old challenged front-running favourite Deploy The Getaway (6/5) inside the final furlong and asserted close home for a three-and-three-quarter length win.

The winning rider said afterwards:- "That was his first run for a long time. I was speaking to Johnny beforehand and he said with the ground being as testing as it was to ride him to come home well. He did that and was very impressive.

"He is a lovely horse, probably wasn't in love with the ground but I'd say his ability got him through it. He'll be a lovely horse without doubt going forward."
