With 4/5 favourite Spin disappointing badly in the Listed Flame Of Tara European Breeders Fund Stakes the door was left open for something else to gain an important win and Chrysanthemum grasped the opportunity on her debut to score at 25/1 under man-in-form Fran Berry.

The winning daughter of Danehill Dancer led a furlong and she went on to comfortably beat Cambina by two and a half lengths.

Absent winning trainer David Wachman said by phone: "She is a filly that we always thought quite a bit of. It was a big ask in a Listed race first time though and she has done it well. She could run again before the end of the season, possibly up in class."
