Drunken Counsel took the concluding bumper at Clonmel in fine style under a confident ride from Nina Carberry.
The Gordon Elliott-trained Gigginstown gelding was settled towards the rear in the early stages of the two-mile event before taking closer order rounding the top bend.
The 7/2 shot challenged with two furlongs to run and soon hit the front. He stretched clear from the one pole to record a cosy four-length victory over 6/4 favourite Most Peculiar
The winner had been third in a hot looking bumper at Fairyhouse last time. The runner-up then, Vigil, won well at Leopardstown in the interim.
The winning trainer was full of praise for Carberry:- “She's different class and the win is really down to her. The ride she gave him was a bit special as he's not straight forward.”
