Camorra swooped late to land the spoils on his debut in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Killarney this afternoon.
The Ger Lyons-trained son of Zoffany was sent to post an 11/4 shot for his racecourse bow in the mile contest and tracked the leaders in the early stages.
Colin Keane 's mount lost his position slightly when asked for an effort passing the two pole but really found his feet inside the final furlong.
He stayed on strongly to grab front-running favourite Delta Dawn (9/10) close home for a half length success.
The winner cost 50,000gns as a yearling. His mother Mauralakana won the Grade 1 Beverly D Stakes in the US.
"I like Killarney and I said I'd rather have runners down here as it is my mid-term break,” said Lyons.
"He is a nice colt and we put him in the Beresford Stakes this morning, even though my rule is we don't enter until they've earned it; they have to win to qualify in my book.
"We thought he'd run well and Colin said he was a bit clueless when they came around him and instead of bullying him he, let him find his own way and put his head in front on the line.
"He is a nice colt who I didn't expect to run until October as he has next year written all over him."
