One of the highest rated maidens in training, California Dreamer registered a first racecourse success when easily winning the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Dundalk.

Narrowly denied on her debut at this track last April, the Adrian Murray trained filly went on to finish third in a Group 3 race next time.

Following two subsequent placings in black type contests, the daughter of Mehmas ended her juvenile career rated 104.

Sent off 1/6f to make a winning start at three, Wayne Lordan kept it simple of the warm favourite. Leading after a furlong, Lordan made the rest on the market leader, stretching clear from over a furlong out to win by five-and-a-half lengths.

Adrian Murray said: "She was just unlucky not to pick up one last year.

"I'm very, very happy with it (performance).

"Yes, it will be (seven furlongs to a mile in Pattern races this year). She has all the big-race entries, so we will sit down and talk and see what Ryan (McElligott), Kia (Joorabchian) and Robson (Aguiar) say.

"Without a doubt we will be keen to get her back on turf soon.

"She has strengthened up and has trained on. She definitely will improve plenty (from the run).

"Wayne said it came easy to her."
