Having finished four lengths fourth to Paynes Find over the course and distance last Wednesday, C’Est Ma Souer reversed the form this evening, taking the Motor Neurone Fun Run @Fairyhouse 3yo Handicap.
Paynes Find got nine pounds for his win last week and it was enough to stop him from scoring again, as he went down by three parts of a length to the Jim Gorman trained, Kevin Manning ridden victor.
The Billy Foley owned son of Oratorio was third at the halfway stage and he improved to lead two furlongs out, keeping on well in the final furlong to see off the late challenge of the Fran Berry ridden Paynes Find (4/1jfav). Dorothy Parker was other joint favourite and she finished a further half a length back in third under Dylan Hogan for Kevin Prendergast.
Penny Serade, who finished third to Paynes Find last week, was well-backed on-course from 9s into 5s, but she could only manage a disappointing fifth under Niall McCullagh for Eddie Lynam.
Jim Gorman said afterwards; "She ran well last week when she just got caught. The little ease in the ground probably helped plus Charles O’Brien’s horse (Paynes Find) got a bit of a hike in the weights."
