Charles Byrnes and Davy Russell certainly left Tramore glad that five of the seven races got to take place as Cyprian Prince brought up a double for the pair in the Follow Tramore Racecourse On Facebook Beginners Chase. The layers certainly felt the pain as this one and Rosie Alice in the first tumbled in price from earlier offerings.

Cyprian Prince ended up the 11/8 favourite from around 8/1 when markets opened and the former Louis Archdeacon 'pointer' accomplished his task in style in this two mile five furlong heat.

When King Blue got the second last wrong it was just a matter of getting over the last for Cyprian Prince, owned by Byrnes' brother, Pat. This the nine-year-old did to defeat Rightback Atya by eight and a half lengths.

"He has had problems all along and his owner has been patient with him. He won a point-to-point first time out and then ran well in a bumper which was won by a decent Gigginstown horse (Band Of Blood)," explained Byrnes.

"I didn't have him then. It was downhill after that, he had leg trouble and bits and pieces. He will go handicapping now."

The Stewards fined E. McNamara, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Irish Bulletin in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Ballycahane trained by A.L.T.Moore, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having never travelled from flagfall.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Ballycahane, trained by A.L.T.Moore, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.J. Burke, rider of Scamall Dubh trained by M.F.Morris, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up after jumping errors.
