Free-running odds-on favourite Moviesta finished second last, and the one behind him in the betting Jamesie (7/2) brought up the rear as 16/1 chance Dont Bother Me landed the spoils in the Paddy Power Horse Racing Text Alerts On 51465 Race at Dundalk under Seamie Heffernan.
"He's hardy. He only ran once here before when he was second as a three-year-old. It might shorten the winter coming back again," said winning trainer Niall Moran in the aftermath.
Dont Bother Me broke well and he soon tracked the leader in second. Ridden under two furlongs out, the successful six-year-old made headway to lead in the final hundred and fifty yards, keeping on best to beat Russian Soul (had to switch to get a run) by three parts of a length.
"There is another race coming up for him shortly. There is also England and there is good prize-money at Newcastle. Have horse will travel," added Moran.
"He did it well today. Seamus makes it looks very easy and kept things very simple."
W.J. Lee, rider of Moviesta (USA) trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran too free.
