Cavalry Master put in a stout staying performance to land the two mile seven furlong novice chase in Killarney for Henry de Bromhead.

The seven-year-old gelding tussled with Pilbara racing to two out and got his measure between the last two fences.

He kept on nicely after the last to take the first prize at 2/1. Pilbara was four and a half lengths back in second at 7/1.

Blackmore said: "He stepped up again from the last day and is taking to chasing very well.

"In the past he won a two-mile bumper at Kilbeggan, so we weren't sure if he'd stay but the last day he stayed really well. He was up in trip a little further again today and stayed on well again."

This sealed Blackmore's Killarney double as she was also successful on Mr Tambourine Man for John Halley in the opener.
