Local trainer James Barrett, successful at Gowran Park last month with Lady Arwen, added to his tally at the Kilkenny track when Corballis Flyer landed the Good Enuf To Eat Caterers At Gowran Park Apprentice Handicap.

The four-year-old gelding was previously successful over seven furlongs at Limerick last summer and had dropped down the ratings since to a mark of 52.

Cian Horgan ’s mount tracked the leaders and the 16/1 chance got on top inside the final 100 yards to beat Helen De Pourtales and Never Back Down by three-quarters-of-a-length and half-a-length respectively.

The trio stretched clear of the remainder.

Horgan said, “James is down in Listowel but he was hopefully of a good run and filled me with confidence. He was tough at the end and likes it around here.

“That’s my fifth winner and at my local track as well — it’s great to get it.”
