Geological has proved a tremendous servant for Damian English and made it five wins in the space of six months when making all in the featured Patrickswell Handicap at Limerick.
Donagh O’Connor judged the pace nicely out in front in this mile event, and the five-year-old asserted early in the straight.
The 14/1 chance stayed on strongly from over a furlong out and had four lengths to spare at the line. Try Again took the runner-up spot, with Total Demolition and Have A Nice Day close behind.
English said, "He's some horse and we call him 'the 800 wonder' at home!
"He is some money-spinner and is all guts and heart. I told Donagh to ride him like he gets the mile easy and go hard and he filled him up at the top of the hill. Donagh reckoned he didn't handle the downhill very well though.
"He's a great kid and has been very lucky for me and has ridden some winners for me.
"He thrives on his racing but we'll have to put him away now for one of the big pots. We're going to have to go Premier Handicapping now.
"He's entered in the Scurry Handicap, over five furlongs, but we could also go to Galway for both the seven furlongs and mile Premier Handicaps."
