Arctic Craft landed some tidy bets when making most of the running under Aileen O'Sullivan to win the concluding Morgan Fuels Supporting Louth GAA (Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Fairyhouse.

Backed from 201/ down to 6/1, the Michael Millar trained seven-year-old stepped up on his two previous starts for this yard to run out a game winner. Navy Guitar looked a real threat to the long time leader when looming up travelling nicely entering the straight under Susie Doyle but the Adrian Murray trained five-year-old came off the bridle two furlongs out.

Unable to bridge the gap to Arctic Craft, he weakened inside the last furlong, as Trooper Lewis stayed on from rear to take minor honours.

However, Arctic Craft was not for catching, keeping on well to win by five-and-a-half lengths.

Michael Millar said: “We were unlucky the last day and were quietly confident that he would run a nice race on that ground. You don't know until you try.

“We'll see what he's like after today and take it from there. I'd expect he'll go jumping hurdles.”
