A false start to the Owens McCarthy Claims Specialists Handicap Chase was no help to the favourite King's Wharf as it took Ruby Walsh a while to bring the grey to a halt. All's well that ends well for the Willie Mullins-trained grey though, as he justified odds of 11/8 in Killarney's fourth event.
One had to feel sorry for bold-jumping English raider Owen Na View He gave it a real good go up on the front-end under Galway's Alain Cawley, for his trainer, Fergal O'Brien, a native of Tipperary.
The Yes No Wait Sorries certainly got a thrill from how their charge performed, but he couldn't fend off King's Wharf who got there on the run-in to win by three lengths.
"I thought he was gone for a stride (after the false start) but in the race he jumped super and was really good," reported Walsh.
"He defied his penalty but I'm not certain he'd defy another one. He has to go left-handed and could run over hurdles at Bellewstown next Thursday."
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Casimir Road trained by Stephen Ryan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
