Ruby Walsh rode his second winner of the day as Willie Mullins continued his domination at Fairyhouse, winning all three races thus far. Allblak Des Places (1/3) was the latest Closutton victor, landing the spoils in the Book Online At fairyhouse.ie 3-y-o Maiden Hurdle.
The story of this event is easily told as front-running Allblak Des Places was brilliantly fluent at the last whilst the challenging Outspoken pecked at the back of the flight. That decided the issue with George Creighton's new horse following on after the legendary Hurricane Fly, going on to score by a length and a quarter.
Walsh had ridden Mullins' winner of the first, Killultagh Vic whilst Bryan Cooper was on his victor in the second, Roi Des Francs
"He was a bit fortuitous and I'd say his experience won it for him. His jumping was a big help," reflected Mullins.
"Christmas will come too soon but I'd like to get another run into him, and timing wise the race at Gowran on Thyestes day would suit."
Paddy Power left Allblak Des Places unchanged at 20/1 for the Triumph Hurdle.
P.T. Enright, rider of Give Battle trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount tired quickly after the last hurdle.
P.E. Corbett, rider of Tiger Moon trained by Edmond Daniel Linehan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise from the fourth last hurdle.
