The Hollywoodbets Racing & Sports Betting Handicap saw a 66/1 surprise, provided by the Bill Durkan-trained and Siobhan Rutledge-ridden Fallen Forest
From his mid-field sit, the successful Most Improved gelding was ridden and steadily made his ground from two furlongs out.
He kept on well inside the final furlong to lead in the final stride for a short head verdict over Kalanoura
The runner-up was a little unfortunate as she drifted right from over a furlong out.
“The fella leading him up thought I was beaten so I was pleasantly surprised to be led down to the winner's spot,” reported Rutledge.
“It's a bit of a surprise win. He's shown snippets of form on good ground over hurdles but I don't think we were expecting a run like that today.
“He dug deep and can hopefully win another one.”
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sister Eliza trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame behind.
