John Feane doubled his tally at Dundalk when Secret Existence scored on her debut for the yard in the New Year's Eve Greyhound Racing At Dundalk Maiden.
Kevin Manning did the steering on this one, whilst it was Gary Halpin that was aboard the earlier Feane victor, Bulgadin Lady
A decent performer in France without making the breakthrough, the Sakhee's Secret filly went through the sales ring as recently as October 1st for 55,000 Euros.
Running here for her breeders, Antoinette and Peter Kavanagh, the 13/8 favourite held on by half a length from Tetraites (13/2 into 4/1, dwelt at the stalls).
"I only have her about four weeks and she's done nothing but improve. She's a nice filly to go on grass with next year," commented Feane.
"She's Listed placed already and it's great to get her a winning bracket. That's her first time under lights and she'll improve from the run."
The Stewards interviewed R. Aguiar, rider of Tetraites, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10 3.(f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and suspended him for one race day.
