Mullins doubles up with Valerian Bridge
Valerian Bridge justified odds-on favouritism as he took the last at Down Royal, the Archie Watson Memorial INH Flat Race, providing his trainer Willie Mullins with a double on the card (earlier won with Morning Run). Fri 31st OctTwo for Mullins as Bridge breezes home
After Indevan's win in the preceding Grade 3 novice chase Willie Mullins doubled his score on Super Sunday at Tipperary as Valerian Bridge took the pro/am bumper under his son Patrick. Sun 05th OctValerian Bridge fights hard to take bumper

He has improved and improved all season. He has improved more than we thought he would. I'm not sure if he'll go for a fourth bumper. I'm not sure whether he'll handle real winter ground. We'll see whether he goes novice hurdling or whether we keep his novice status for next year.

He improved a lot from the last day. He was working so easy at home that he never came off the bridle. That might have caught him out a bit on his debut. When I asked him today he did it instantly. He's a better ground horse and today was the plan. I'm not sure where he goes next,.

The dam (Screaming Witness) was my first ride. Myself and Emmet (Mullins) decided to keep the mare and this is her second foal. I thought he would win a bit easier, but I was probably a bit over confident early in the straight on him.
