I thought the gap was going to close on him but thankfully it stayed open and Kevin just said he keeps improving. The whole year was mapped around the Joe McGrath. We ran him here out of the handicap just to see he’d handle the track and that was his first run of the season. We have low-grade handicappers in the yard but it’s great to have one to put our name out. He’s been a great servant for the yard. He loves Bellewstown and when you come back to a straight track you have to weave him in and out to keep him interested.

That was brilliant. I think he ran a bit flat in Cork last time, it was 12 days after his win. He's freshened up well since and I think we'll do the same again now, run him again in about 30 days. Kevin said he hit a divot and thought he was going to be beat but he fought back well. It was a premier handicap last time in Cork and I think he would have run a bit better in it if he'd had longer between races. The Joe McGrath is coming up and he could possibly go for that.

He ran very well here last year and was beaten by a good filly in A Step Too Far. In those better races it suits him as he has a better pace to aim at. He was very tough there today as it wasn’t straight forward for him. He’s done it well. He’s run against a lot of those horses before and they have beaten him, so to get up today is good and means that he’s improving. We’ll see what the handicapper does but there is plenty of races for him. We’ll keep him busy this year as he’s getting tougher and taking his races well.

he is an improving horse, came from Gordon Elliott's and is appreciating being in a smaller yard with a bit more attention. He has been trained like a proper sprinter and you can see the way he is finishing out strong and I think he'll be a good horse next year. He got to within half a length of A Step Too Far and she went on and won the Joe McGrath Handicap and we'll probably aim him for something like that next year. He seems very ground-versatile but that is probably as fast as he wants it; his stallion Equiano puts a lot of versatility in him and I'd like to see him on a bit easier ground again. I think he's improving and we'll see what the handicapper does; he might have a few runs at Dundalk but we'll keep him most on the turf which will be his main aim.
