I knew coming here he was better than when he won here previously,” . He'll obviously go for the Martinstown Final at Punchestown next and I'm sure he'll get into the race after that.

He wants a lot further but on that ground it's plenty far enough for him. He's had lots of problems with wind, heart, legs and everything but is in the top of his health at the minute. He's entered for Cork on Monday but I won't run him. I might try to win another hurdle with him but he'll be going jumping fences shortly and will stay going for the summer. That was Jonathan's first ride for me and he's a good lad.

Andrew rode him the last day and he said he was doing everything too slow so he told me to take him home and to wake him up and to sprint him everyday. He had been too relaxed. I'm under no illusions that it wasn't a stayers hurdle trial but he did beat Enjoy Responsibly here by over eight lengths (in March). This horse was my last winner in September of 2012 and I didn't think I would take this long to win another.

I got a half-day off school today and I told my teachers not to back him so they won't be happy!. I fancied him during the week but I didn't think he would handle the ground. He is a good horse and I would be happy to sell him if he were to stay in training with me. He is a half-sister to Dolly Hall who won on that ground. Jonathon gave him a brilliant ride. He done the right things and he has bright future.
A J McNamara
