Ronan Whelan brought Cest Notre Gris (5/1) with a well-timed challenge to collect the decent prize on offer in Listowel's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery.< Wholelotofrosie and Orgilgo Bay locked horns from some way out and that may have told in the testing conditions as the former began to tread water with the race seemingly in the bag entering the final furlong.
Orgilgo Bay came with a renewed challenge at that point, but it was Jim Gorman's Cest Notre Gris who finished best of all, pouncing in the final 50 yards to score by half a length.
Whelan had to settle for second in the Feale Handicap when Kanes Pass was collared close home by 10/1 shot Jappeli < Talitha Kum made it third-time lucky with an authoritative display as the 9/4 favourite in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, kicking again when challenged by Tobann to storm 10 lengths clear in the hands of Chris Hayes.
Pride Of The Artic (3/1) completed a hat-trick with a determined triumph in the John F. McGuire Novice Chase.
With Carlito Brigante a non-runner, Sweet My Lord was well fancied to supplement his fencing debut success, but Ruby Walsh was hard at work leaving the back straight for the final time, whereas Pride Of Artic responded to all of Andrew Leigh's urgings to register a four-and-three-quarter-length verdict.
There was further disappointment for Walsh and trainer Willie Mullins when long-time leader Chiltern Hills faded into third in the I.T.B.A. Fillies Scheme Novice Hurdle.
The prize went to Paul Nolan's top-weight Rising Time (4/1), who readily held the game challenge of Tropical Three by three-quarters of a length.< Mackey Boy (10/1) fended off Marshim to land the Cashen Handicap Hurdle, while the newcomer Stolberg proved too strong in the Bank Of Ireland INH Flat Race.
