Falskirt springs 20/1 shock on debut
The Andy Slattery-trained Falskirt sprang a 20/1 surprise on his debut when bursting through in the closing stages to land the Tinnakill House Maiden at Naas. Wed 28th Jun
After race at Naas Wed, 28th Jun, 2023 (1st)
He's a nice horse. He was working very well early in the year, and I expected him to win an early maiden, but he just went lame on me,. Andrew said he hit every ridge in the place today and he was still green. I'd say he'll make into a nice sprinter. I hadn't him fully wound up today. He's a fine big horse and I had to wait until now to run him. I got him about mid-summer last year and he was just backward and took a bit of time. I had him ready to run in the first six-furlong maiden here and I thought he'd win, he had worked very well on Walsh's Hill a few times. He just went lame, nothing major he was a bit immature and needed a bit of time. I think as the year he goes on he'll get better. I thought he might be a bit green today and we'd go for another maiden. I'd say he'll be a fair horse in those backend handicaps and I might wait for them. I might not run him for about six weeks as he's a big horse. I'd say as a four-year-old he'll really be a horse and he could make into really good sprinter next season.
