Amanha causes mild upset to win on hurdling debut
In a race where only two appeared to count in the betting and only three ever got involved with any meaningful chance, it was the Dermot McLoughlin trained Amanha who came home in front in Division l of the Curragh To Curragh Cycle Maiden Hurdle. Tue 06th AugMarket tells a tale as Jeaniemacaroney makes the breakthrough
Jeaniemacaroney and Caman Eileen both went opposite ways in the market for the Frenchpark Maiden Hurdle, with the well-backed former eventually coming out on top. Mon 08th JulCaman Eileen shows off her turn of foot in Tramore
Caman Eileen was another smart-looking sort to make a winning debut for Willie Mullins in the bumper at Tramore. Fri 18th Aug
After race at Tramore Fri, 18th Aug, 2023 (1st)
She was very good. Mark Landers sent her to us, Jimmy Mangan pre-trained her and he did a great job. We were worried about the ground, but she handled it fine. She has got a nice Flat pedigree, with loads of speed. Once I gave her a squeeze she took off, she has plenty of gears. We might look for a black-type bumper with her now, possibly the one at Gowran towards the end of next month.
